I was on my way home today when I looked up and, instead of seeing gray clouds, saw a brilliant orange sky despite the rain. I pulled over and took a few pictures. It was so beautiful that I forgot the chill. It really is possible to see beauty in the rain.

Golden clouds, golden rain, golden streets, golden state. Forget the cows, even our rain clouds are happier than others.

My mom needed some heel protectors so I, being the sweet kindly daughter, went to CVS to get it for her.  While there, I stopped and looked at some stuff I usually pass through, including...

Home hair color products.  They had some Garnier ones on sale for $5 and I thought coloring my hair might be a fun little thing to do.  I'm a little bored with how black my hair is anyway.  A little reddish brown or dark brown might be a good look.  After looking and contemplating for 10 minutes, I put color 433 down.  I had my hair highlighted once in high school but didn't care much for the outcome.  Anyway, my hair does have brown streaks when I'm in direct sunlight.  Finally, if I were to do something to my hair, I'd rather get it curled.  So no home coloring for me.

Tanning lotion.  While browsing through the lotion, I spotted Jergens' line of tanning lotion next to Aveeno.  Self tanning is something I just don't get, especially living in So. Cal where the sun is shinning all the time.  But then I got curious about the effectiveness of tanning lotion.  Is it like make up except in a lotion form and it goes all over?  Do you have to wash it off at the end of the day?  How long does it last?  Does it smell like coconuts?  (I don't know why I think it might smell like coconuts.)  However, I really don't need tanning lotion.  I tan pretty damn easily already and sun block is definitely a better investment.

Fake eyelashes.  I actually changed my opinion about fake eyelashes after looking through them at CVS.  I used to think they were gross and spidery.  Plus, they were so obviously fake looking.  However, they might also look fantastic for a night out and there are times when I actually want to get super girly.  At the end, I didn't get any because they didn't have a great selection and I'd like to do some online research on fake eyelashes.  What's a good brand?  Are they contact lens safe?  Am I supposed to put on eyeshadow first and then the eyelashes?  And how the fuck do I get them off later?  What if I accidentally glue my eyelids shut?  So many questions...

I guess sometimes, I like playing the girl strange guys buy drinks for, but only if it's pretend because it's much less hypocritical and insulting to my feminist tendencies.  *sigh*

Call me old school but I still prefer CDs.  Partly because with CDs, I get a physical and digital copy but also because my car doesn't have an iPod deck.  Yes, call me practical, too.

So when I like music, I tend to still buy the physical album that will allow me to listen to it in the car.

But I've recently come in possession of a $15 iTunes gift card.  It's exciting because I really don't make purchase on iTunes much and this is $15.  (Okay, so it's not that much, but consider--I get excited about vending machines.  Let me have my fun!)

This also means I'll be getting some music that I won't be able to listen when I'm cruising.  What I end up getting will be strickly guilty pleasure music that remains safely between me and my ear buds when I'm out in public.

Oh the fun I'll have!

The HSM3 soundtrack is out because I don't want to drop that much free money on that.  This is what I have so far:

1.  "Crazy in Love" - Beyonce
2.  "Burnin' Up" - Jonas Brothers
3.  "Bouncing off Clouds" - Tori Amos  (I'm actually not too ashamed of this but the rest of that album doesn't seem too hot, so not worth getting.)
4.  "My Hands are Shaking" - Sondre Lerche  (Similar reason as #4.)  EDIT:  Oh fuck I can't buy this song individually.  Damnit!
4.  "Talk Show Host" - Radiohead  (Love this song but never got it!  Can't believe I didn't know about it until recently.)
5.  "Gimme More" - Britney Spears
6.  "So Yesterday" - Hilary Duff  (Shut up.)
7.  "The Remedy" - Jason Marz
8.  "Valerie" - Amy Winehouse  (Amazing song.)
9.  "Smile" -  That girl who is not Katy Perry
10.  "Not Fair" - By the girl who sang #9. (Song is hilarious and fucking awesome.)

Okay, I got 5 more.  Must use them wisely!  Pop music is my guilty pleasure.  *happy sigh*

I was reading Jon Favreau's Twitter and he said his young son is a fan of the iPhone app Pocket God.  Curious, I checked it out and it looks so awesome!  The game is exactly what it sounds like:  you are a God and control the fate of islanders!  I am thisclose to getting my first paid app.

I'm sewing back a button that fell off a back pocket. It's tougher than it looks... :(

I love Sheldon from Big Bang Theory! *swoon*

The theme song from that show is sang by Barenaked Ladies, right? Sure sounds like them. Wheee.

Oh, and people who own really really really nice cars (say, an Audi S4) but can't go past 20 mph make me sad. It's like a big F you.

I've never had bad sushi until tonight. This is enough to scare me from sushi for a while. Hopefully this fear doesn't last too long, otherwise I'd be eating nothing but soba and ramen next month when I'm in Japan. Actually, that doesn't sound too bad.
